With almost half the season gone, the Hampshire Road Race League tables are starting to take shape. Tables are current following Victory.
Ladies A currently occupy second spot behind Winchester in the top division. This is their first season in the top league following promotion last season and have a fantastically low score of 12 (four behind the always strong Winchester (on 8) and a good six points lower than challengers Denmead Striders (on 18) in third.
Ladies B currently occupy second spot behind Winchester in the top division and will look to hold off what is shaping up to be a straight challenge from Lordshill, to finish higher than their 3rd place finish last season (currently 17 & 19 points respectively)
Ladies C currently top of their division with an eye wateringly low score of 5. They look odds on to join Ladies B in the top division next season.
Ladies D are in their debut season and the only team keeping them off top spot are their C Team counterparts! Well clear of third place with a score of 14 over Victory B (43) and look odds on for promotion with Ladies C.
Men’s A currently enjoying top spot in the top division whilst they continue their duel with Winchester (currently locked at 12 – 12). An exciting second half awaits in what is only their second season in the top league, having consolidated their first year in the division with a 5th placed finish last season.
Men’s B currently enjoying top spot in the top division with a 3 point lead over Winchester. Quite remarkable considering their 4th place finish last season.
Men’s C currently occupying 4th spot with a score of 26 in the top division; remarkably sitting behind rival ‘B’ teams following their promotion last year and sitting well clear of many other ‘B’ teams. Currently streets ahead of nearest challengers Denmead B, it would appear to be a case of can the ‘C’ team catch Lordshill B team for that 3rd placed spot – given that they are 15 points ahead of nearest ‘C’ team challenger – Winchester, currently on 41 point.
Men’s D are in their debut season and enjoy top spot with a resoundingly low score of 17 - a good 7 points ahead of Alton’s ‘B’ Team. They’re 12 points clear of third place, currently occupied by Denmead ‘C’ 29 points) and look odds on for odds on for instant promotion to join Salisbury B & C in the top division next season.
